Photo 1635. The beautiful island of Leros is part of the Dodacenese group. It is not a poor island and is inhabited by relatively wealthy Greeks and by Greek holidaymakers. The fact that it is not incredibly easy to get to makes it more inviting for those seeking a quiet holiday. We flew to Kos, travelled across Kos to a ferry which took us to Kalymnos, drove across Kalymnos to a fishing boat which took us to Leros. On the way back the fishing boat was not available so we travelled on the smaller mail boat ! This particular shot sums up the quirkiness of the island being a tropical palm tree, the Greek flag and a French windmill ! Shot in 1998, in tiff format it has a file size of 29.4 Mb. Slides and negatives are scanned to give a file size of between 100 and 120 Mb and then printed on an EpsonStylus 1290 Photo A3 printer at 1440 dots per inch. Prints are made on matt heavy art paper unless glossy is requested.
