Photo 1675. A whole morning spent, around dawn, at Cardiff Bay. The yachts in the tidal pool were on very calm water, their reflections as if in a mirror. This particular shot, taken in 2000, in tiff format has a file size of 29.4 Mb. Print sizes and costs are at the bottom of this page. | Photo 1676. Part of the successful licentiate distinction application
to the Royal Photographic Society in 2003. On the approach road to Cardiff
Bay. The 'bent' gantry seen in the ball is a gantry across the road, dawn
is breaking from the right of the photograph. This sculptured man is staring
into the centre of the chromed ball - and here goes for my theory of why.
If you stand a fair way away from this chromed reflective surface, you see
quite a wide picture of the surrounding area. As you approach the ball the
reflected area seen gets less and less until you are right on top of the
ball and you see very little. The outside world having shrunk down to this
size, the sculptured man believes that the next stage is to travel from the
outside world to the inside world - he is trying to see inside his head.
Whether the theory is right, wrong or personal to the viewer, the chap has
not moved since the sculpture was placed there. The original, in tiff format,
has a file size of 70 Mb. Print sizes and costs are at the bottom of
